![]() ![]() I think this costume is going to continue to be a popular alternative (or complement) costume for Despicable Me fans who want to dress like Minions for Halloween or other occasions. Since this was one of my favorite costumes for 2013, I had to add it to our growing collection of Costume Detective costume ideas. You can see some of the fun animation testing for the purple minion (and perhaps how to behave if you dress as a purple minion) in the YouTube Clip from Illumination Entertainment: DIY Evil Minion Costume Assemble a Purple Minion Costume The minions are not the only creatures affected by the PX-41 serum, because we also see the effects of the PX-41 serum on El Macho. Gru’s girls get to play heros by shooting some pretty nasty tasting jelly at the purple minions to change them back into the silly yellow ones. The only way to undo the effects of the PX-41 serum is with the antidote, appropriately named the PX-41 antidote, develped by Dr. The resulting creatures are indestructible, purple, crazy, very furry, mindless killing machines. To do so the normally lovable yellow minions ingest or are injected with a mutagentic serum, PX-41 developed at a special lab in the Arctic circle. His plan it to turn Gru’s yellow minions into his purple henchmen. Purple minions are created when one of Gru’s nemeses hatches an evil plot to take over the world. Purple Evil Minion What is an Evil/Purple Minion? Another plus with this costume is that you get to dress in purple. I know I’ve had those days when I just want to say, BAAH! to everyone. Who wouldn’t want an excuse on Halloween to dress up like an indestructible, crazed, quirky, screaming minion, who doesn’t say much and definitely doesn’t play well with others? Despicable Me Evil Minion – BAAH! Then Illumination Entertainment came out with a new minion-the crazy, screaming, mutant purple ones (the evil minions) for Despicable Me 2. What else can you say but, BAAAHHH! ![]() We even have a minion magnet on the car, waving “Bello!” to people as we drive down the road. Lightly pinch together the top center of the side of the fleece facing you. Lay the newly sewn hat on a flat surface wrong side out. I used one of my child’s winter beanies as a template, allowing a little extra around the edges to compensate for stitching.Ĭut two layers of the fleece then stitch around the rounded portion to fuse them together. You will need yellow fleece ( no more an 1/4 yard) to make a Minion hat. The felt side goes against the face so it’s nice and soft. Silver or gray duct tape will work perfectly.Īnd now you have a pair of Minion goggles! To keep the canning jar lids together wrap a little duct tape around where they meet. Glue canning lids top side down on one side of the felt. Measure the length to fit around your child’s head and stitch elastic over on itself to secure. Leave a rectangle of ~3/4″ on each end of the circles.Ĭut a slit into the rectangles of felt on each end of the glasses, just big enough to slip the elastic through. Use scissors to cut out the circles, but not where they overlap. Inside those circles, trace two smaller circles with the pen. Use a small cup roughly the same outer and inner size of the canning jar ring to trace two overlapping circles side by side on the felt with the disappearing ink pen. ![]() Iron gray felt to each side of the fusible webbing.
